This hand struck silver coin was recovered from the Dutch Spice Islands wreck (c. 1629) in Indonesia. Look to the left of the shield and you can clearly see the mintmark o/M for Mexico City and the Assayer D, who was in the mint from 1618-1634. This great piece of history can turn into your signature piece! The pendant is about the size of a silver dollar.

Reverse: "Florenzada" Cross or flowered cross, which was only used by the first mint of the New World, Mexico City. The Cross symbolized the close bond of Church and State. Lions of Leon (home region of Queen Isabella of Spain) and castles of Castile are in the quadrants.
