Authentic coin was recovered in 1985 from the famous shipwreck Nuestra Senora de Atocha which sank in 1622. This Piece of 8 was struck by the dyslexic mint maker, T. Juan Ximeniz de Tapia. Note where the castles are located, the lion is typically in the lower left and upper right quadrants of the cross. The coin weighs 13.1 grams and is set in 14K solid gold.
